What a Star !
Feb 7th, 2012 | By Jallan | Category: Penhill PeopleJayne Blackford has been volunteering with Penhill Lunch Club for
over 8 years. This year she achieved NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality
Services. She successfully completed her training by passing exams
just before Christmas.
Her qualification will not only lead to improved services provided by
the charities for which she volunteers for (Lunch Club, CLIP and
Penhill Community Café) but will hopefully, in the long term, help her
to land a paid job.
And what does Jayne think about volunteering? „I‟ve gained
experience, had help and advice, made friends, had opportunities to
learn and if I need a reference I know who to turn to. Volunteering
made it so much easier for me when training for the NVQ. I had quite
a lot of practical experience which I gained, thanks to volunteering.‟
