‘Come back’ Carnival – 2nd July 2011

Welcome to Penhill Carnival 2011 page

It’s been 16 years since the last Carnival was organized in Penhill. In January this year, in a group of enthusiastic residents got together to  discuss the idea of ‘bringing back’ this popular community event.

Back in its day, the Carnival used to be one of the annual highlights in Penhill. The programme spread over the whole week with exhibitions, entertainment, competitions – all these attractions culminating with a Fancy Dress Parade down the Cricklade Road.

The idea for this year is to celebrate all the achievements here in Penhill. There is so much going on at different places: Swindon Academy; Seven Fields School; United Reformed Church, CLIP at John Moulton Hall; St. Peter’s Church, Sure Start, NSPCC… why not come together for a day and enjoy the entertainment prepared for you?
