Penhill Carnival Programme


Friday 1st July 2011

10:30 – 11am Official opening of the Carnival weekend by Mr. Justin

Tomlinson, MP (with representatives of local groups and

organizations invited through Penhill Forum)

6pm – 8pm Evening entertainment at John Moulton Hall

Taster of Bollywood dancing (Bollywood Dreamers) and Salsa

(Salsa Swindon).

£ 1.00/person with tea, coffee and biscuits (under 16s for free;

under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult)

Saturday 2nd July 2011

11am – 12.00 noon Carnival Fancy Dress Procession

(starting outside St. Peter’s Church and walking clockwise along Penhill Drive in direction of John Moulton Hall; Les Gowing; Penhill Surgery; Lillian Lock and back to St. Peter’s Church)

12noon – 3pm Fete at Swindon Academy – (Alton Close)

(BBQ, Cake stall, Mini Train Rides, Bouncy Castle and many games)

3pm – 4pm Presentations of local groups and after school activity groups

at St. Peter’s Church (Ballet; Cheer leading; Martial Arts; Line Dancing Dogs; Seven Fields Primary School Choir and African Drumming)

3pm – 6pm Entertainment and attractions for all

at John Moulton Hall

(Live Band – Wipe me Dry; Jake the Juggler; Fair Grounds; Motorbike display; Crèche activities, African music and BBQ)
